Welcome to More | Better ~ an offshoot of the Better Than Fine podcast.

I started BTF back in Feb 2020. Little did I know what was just around the corner! The show was meant to cut through the noisy fitness/wellness/wellbeing echo chamber and provide reliable, actionable, non-exploitative information from actual professionals.
150 episodes and 3 years later that side project is now on NASM Podcast Network and growing. This substack is the next step in seeing meaningful wellness content out in the world, devoid of the toxic bs that so many people fall into, get lost, and lose time, health, and precious resources along the way.
How to use this substack:
Wellness is highly individual depending on your genetics, lived experience, resources, and life trajectory - BUT there are foundational truths of what it means to live in a human body, in this reality, at this moment in time. Because of that:
Wellness is a Choose Your Own Adventure
I’m a child of the 80s and I remember loving Choose Your Own Adventure books. You’d read along and then be presented with a choice ~ does the heroine go right or left? Do they talk to the handsome shop keeper or the dark, old witch? Depending on your choices you’d shape the story by being an active participant.
While there are certain foundational truths to being human, you’re in the drivers seat of your wellness journey. I may be an expert in fitness and wellbeing, but YOU are the expert on YOU.
So here are a few recommended ground rules:
Identify what you’re ready to work on in your life
Learn the basics of behavior change
Embrace a growth mindset - mindset often governs change and affects outcomes
Gather the information you need to make sustainable positive change (free info links below)
Reflect, regroup, and decide if/how you want to keep going/growing

The goal is to provide reliable, free resources that are a combination of tools from what research tells us, those learned from professional experience, and a variety of support options.
